Insurance is optional. It is $5 per board (excluding fibreglass boards.)
Surf board insurance covers any damages that happened to the board while surfing. Damages that occur while not surfing are not covered by the insurance.
The cost of damages are as follows:
*Broken Board: Damage which hinders a surf boards life.
If you choose not to take insurance, a staff member will make sure you are happy with the condition of your surf board and that you understand what is and is not covered in the surf board insurance. You will be asked to sign a form saying that you choose not to take insurance and are responsible for any damages.
The cost of damages are as follows:

| Big gouges...........$25 |
| Broken board*........$500 |
